Obviously everyone has a subjective opinion regarding what tastes good or bad. My taste buds LOVE "Old School 1972". I've gone away and tried many other blends, styles, etc, and always come back to Nicoletti Old School. My machine, grinder, and morning ritual have not found a better bean for the price.
My gripe, which I've let Nicoletti know, is the slow shipping. I understand coffee prices have gone up, shipping has gone up, and they switched from USPS Priority Mail to UPS SurePost. For my US address it sometimes takes up to 9 days delivery! And if your label isn't printed until late Friday night it won't ship until Tuesday because Nicoletti is closed Monday. What good is a set monthly subscription roast date if the label is printed the next late night and leaves early next week?
Old School price has gone up the past few years. I'm fine with that. I would pay a few bucks more to get my beans shipped same-day and via Priority Mail. That 6 day difference is huge for coffee addicts who time their bag/subscription. I've had to drive into town and pay $$$ to get me through the huge delay Nicoletti beans are taking on the slow truck from New York to the western US.
These are first-world problems, I know.
